The Turtle Top from Neue Schule is designed for a horse with a busy mouth. The mouthpiece is centered over the tongue, helping to prevent tongue evasions and keeping the horse focused on the rein aids.
The Turtle Top has flattened underside of the FlexZ TM cannons with anatomy-inspired recesses. These are held parallel to the tongue whatever riding activity you enjoy. This mouthpiece is brilliant for the over-active busy mouth that chomps and
chews on the mouthpiece. Turtle TopTM with FlexTM keeps the mouthpiece

This bit is a combination of a loose ring snaffle with a gag that exerts pressure on the poll. The bit has holes in the top and bottom of the cheeks through which the reins pass vertically.
Loose ring snaffles are a gentle bit that can be used across all disciplines. The rings move relatively freely, encouraging a relaxed and mobile mouth and jaw.
As this bit can be fairly severe if used incorrectly, the rider must be sympathetic with their hands and ensure they are soft and forgiving to avoid too much pressure on the poll.
Different cheekpieces are required on bridles using this type of bit.

KK Ultra bits take advantage of the exceptional sensitivity of the tongue in order to provide effective but gentle communication between horse and rider. Sprenger undertook years of research to determine how to design the optimum bit and the KK Ultra was born as a result of this.
The tongue is so extremely sensitive that it multiplies perceptions in this area dramatically. The Double jointed KK ULTRAs have a middle link, known as the bean, that is shortened and angled forward by 45 degrees. When the reins are pulled the middle part of the KK ULTRA fully rests on the tongue without squeezing and the connection rings roll on the tongue. The tongue's sense of touch is utilised and clear instructions can be given.
KK Ultra Loose Ring Snaffles are made from SENSOGAN® which is a new scientifically proven bit material developed by Sprenger. Sensogan is the result of on-going development and improvement of Sprenger's original bit material Aurigan®. This material has been tested and is proven to have a very positive effect on the horse's acceptance of the bi and motivation and willingness to perform.
The materials and design of KK ULTRA Bits have the horse's well being in mind, thus leading to a more comfortable, happy horse that is more accepting to the aids and rider's contact.

A range of ergonomically designed bits with a 90% copper mouthpiece to help promote salivation. An angled lozenge centre will facilitate a better contact through a more comfortable mouthpiece.
This type of bit is similar to a snaffle that exerts pressure on the poll, which can aid control of strong horses and encourage them to lower their head. The cheek pieces are attached to the ring at the top. The reins can be attached to either the large ring, for the least amount of poll pressure, or the smaller ring underneath, which increases the poll pressure.
Enabling a soft contact but with extreme control.

The NS Verbindend has consistently eradicated tongue evasions by creating a channel for the tongue to lie in allowing the horse to soften and relax through the jaw.
This mouthpiece clarifies and emphasises the signals through the rein. Promoting self carriage and throughness, a true outline and freedom through the shoulder can be developed. It can enhance the development of the bend for lateral work and smaller circles.
By encouraging clarity of the aids, and promoting a true outline the freedom through the shoulder can be developed, thus promoting self carriage and throughness.
If you are a pleasure rider and simply want to establish a lighter, softer way of going this is the bit for you. If you wish simply to lift the forehand then this bit is a logical choice. No dressage legal snaffle is ever severe – it simply offers fine tuning for the experienced rider who can ‘play’ it!

The ergonomically designed Neue Schule Tranz Universal offers control without discomfort or severity.
Offering control without discomfort. It is brilliant for faster work such as jumping as you can turn much more easily. The Universal also helps to eliminate the head toss when asking for a downward transition, or shortening in between fences. If you need to upgrade from a snaffle, this bit can be very useful as it offers varying degrees of control. Also an excellent training tool prior to introducing a double bridle as you can use two reins and a curb strap on it.
The aim of Neue Schule bits is to optimise quiet communication between horse and rider to enhance performance.
Ergonomically designed, Neue Schule bits incorporate a unique warmer metal that promotes acceptance of the bit and helps to ensure that more relaxed communciation between horse and rider. The tranz mouthpeice is designed for comfort and communication. The mouthpiece promotes feel and responsiveness, encouraging a soft, sustainable contact. Neue Schule bits work by pressing on the tongue in order to communicate, rather than pressing on the roof of the mouth, which although is an area that can be easily damaged, actually has much fewer nerves and so feels less than the tongue. The tranz mouthpiece is designed so that the lozenge and loops predminantly press down on the centre of the tongue. The more pressure sensitive side areas of the tongue are not under as much contact and so are relieved, making this a effective, but gentle bit. 16mm mouthpiece.

Gentle but effective Neue Schule jointed snaffle: The NS Tranz mouthpiece is ergonomically designed for both comfort and communication.

When a contact is taken, the smoothly profiled lozenge and loops press gently down onto the centre of the tongue thus a higher level of communication through the rein is achieved.
Because the tranz mouthpiece is designed so that the lozenge and loops predominantly press down on the centre of the tongue, the more pressure sensitive side areas of the tongue are not under as much contact and so are relieved, making this a effective, but gentle bit. 16mm mouthpiece and 70mm rings

Pelhams have both a snaffle and a curb action - similar to double bridles but without the complexity of two bits and two sets of reins. When used with roundings, which is the most common way to use a pelham, the bit offers a snaffle feel in the mouth but with added poll pressure which encourages the horse to lower it's head, and a curb, which applies pressure in the mouth and behind the chin - squeezing the jaw to control the horse.
Different horses react differently to this pressure so when first trying a pelham, it would be advisable to do so after a discussion with an instructor, and we would recommend a reasonably loose curb.

A stainless steel Kimbelwick bit with a small port and a curb chain. Kimblewick bits are similar to pelhams but with a lower level of leverage - they exert pressure on the tongue and bars of the mouth like a snaffle and also exert pressure on the jaw with the use of the curb. They commonly offer more control.

This type of bit is effectively a snaffle that exerts mild pressure on the poll, which can aid control of strong horses and encourage them to lower their head. The cheek pieces are attached to the ring at the top and the rein on the large ring.
The eggbutt mouthpiece is a snaffle bit which on some horses can be more comfortable than a loose ring snaffle as the rings cannot move and pinch the corners of the mouth. The cheek is fixed in relation to the mouthpiece, providing an element of lateral control - assisting in turning.
As the cheeks are fixed in relation to the mouthpiece, mobility is reduced which can be advantageous in horses than have very active mouths, although can reduce sensitivity.
